Different procedures with different purposes.
Botulinum toxin is used to temporarily reduce activity in selected muscles. Dermal filler is a different procedure considered for volume and contour needs in selected areas. The two do not replace one another.
The relationship between a line and expression, skin characteristics, tissue structure and previous procedures all matter. A photograph alone cannot replace assessment when choosing a product, amount or procedure. Needs, expectations and alternatives are discussed during a consultation.
Ask about the purpose, product, possible effects and follow-up. Temporary muscle weakness can occur after botulinum toxin; swelling and bruising can occur after fillers. Injection of filler into a blood vessel can cause rare but serious complications. Assessment and clear information are central to making a decision.

Sharing your expectations is the first step.
Prepare a list of your medicines, allergies, medical conditions and previous procedures. Information about products and dates from earlier procedures can help assessment. Do not stop prescribed medicines yourself; discuss this with your physician.
Explain which area concerns you and what you would like to change in your own words. Discuss options in relation to your facial characteristics rather than aiming to reproduce someone else’s face. A first consultation does not have to end with a procedure.
Ask about possible benefits, risks, alternatives, limitations and review. Writing down questions beforehand can help. A decision should follow an understanding of the information and your own preference.

Similar-looking pigmentation can have different causes.
When a mark began, whether it is changing, sun exposure and skin type all affect assessment. A new or changing lesion should be medically assessed rather than assumed to be only a cosmetic concern.
The intensity of skin-renewal and peeling options depends on the area and skin sensitivity. Unsupervised use of strong peeling products can cause burns and pigmentation changes. Selection should be based on a consultation.
Sun protection and care that respects the skin barrier are considered alongside procedures. The response is reviewed and the plan may change, with dermatology referral when needed. Permanent, identical results for everyone are not a realistic promise.
